Welcome to the Colorado Orthopaedic Society Website. As you know, Colorado is currently facing an unprecedented threat to the medical liability system and the protections it provides to both patients and physicians. The medical community has rallied around this issue for months and we have made considerable progress to date. However, the eleventh hour is approaching and we need you to act now. House Bill 164, backed by the trial lawyers, would destabilize Colorado’s medical liability climate. The bill is scheduled for a vote in the House Judiciary Committee on April 9, 2008. We have just 8 days to educate legislators on the proposed legislation's potentially devastating impact on physician retention, practice costs and, most importantly, patient access to care. This is your opportunity join the collective voice of physicians across the state to convey this important message. Th Colorado Orthopaedic Society strongly urges you to contact your representative immediately to advocate against the passage of House Bill 164 in the House Judiciary Committee. Mission Statement Colorado Orthopaedic Society is committed to the needs of orthopedic physicians and to the communities and patients they serve. Colorado Orthopaedic Society will provide advocacy, education, economic value, legislation and communication to our members. Vision Colorado Orthopaedic Society is a source of leadership, resources, education, communication and influence for the socioeconomic and policy issues that affect the musculoskeletal health of the public. |
